has anybody bought a Halloween costume for their baby?

I am having a halloween party tonight, and have bought my son a skeleton costume, he is 8 months old and looks so gorgeous in it! Anybody else's babies wearing costumes tonight?

My baby is a little older – 18 mo – but she is going to a Halloween party this afternoon as a black cat. She is absolutely mad about animals and is really excited. She looks so cute in her little outfit!

Last year, for her first Halloween, I dressed her as a pumpkin. She went trick or treating with her friend (who was three at the time) to a couple of neighbours' houses. To be truthful, she just sat in her pushchair and watched as her friend collected the treats (being too young to indulge in any of the treats herself!). It was completely safe and we had asked the neighbours beforehand if they minded us calling.

I'm sad that some of the other answerers have a downer on this. My daughter won't be out past her bedtime tonight and there's absolutely no harm in getting children involved at any age in these sorts of activities, as long as they are appropriate. After all, you wouldn't exclude a child from a family christmas celebration just because they're too young to understand the full meaning of it!

In addition, I don't think its ever too early to start nice family traditions. After all, you'll never know what your child's first memory will be and I want my baby to grow up in an environment where we take time to do special and fun things together as a family.

I couldn't find a costume that fit my daughter right! 12-18 was too short in overall lenght! 2t costumes she has too long a torso for! She's 14 months old. So after 5 costumes i gave up! She's too young to know the difference anyway!

NO! How utterly repulsive! Your child is too young to understand the commercial evils of Halloween and you are turning him into a MONSTER. My child will wait until he can make his own decisions. In our house we turn off all of the lights so that trick-or-treaters think that we are out.
